Sunday Message
We had Ps John Chin, a Pastor/Missionary/Evangelist who has travel extensively in the remotest parts of Asia. He screened a sanitised version of his slides. (I have seen the original version - complete with natives slaugthering a python - weird looking natives with huge holes in their earlopes etc)
His message was on "Making your life counts for God" and the bible texts were from
Acts 13:v22 - " I have found a David the son of Jesse, a man after My own hearts, who will do all my will"
And again in & v36 about how "David serves his own generation..." God is still looking for men and women who will do his will. Our fulfilment and life's purpose is found in doing the will of God in our generation.
Exam season
The VCE & Uni students are facing their exam season now, Jeremy Goh has drawn up an exam time table. Please remember each others in prayer. Pray for faith in God, favour from God and faithfulness in our studies. This is the calling and will of God for us at this moment to honour and glorify Him in our studies in preparation for the workand career path ahead!
Easter Camp 2006
Ps John Chin, Aunty Carol and I made a camp site visit last Saturday morning.
Many campsites are either fully booked or asking for pretty hefty price. Please pray for the camp that we are tentative booking - Allambee Camp. Is is only 1.5 hour away from Melbourne in Strzelecki Ranges - 45 minutes away from Wonthaggi - where Eugene Chen works. The facilities are good and the scenery is breath - taking...... at the mountain top with veiw to the forest, green hill slopes stretching for miles..
Please start saving up now. It is going to be fabulously, fanstatically the highlight of 2006... check out the camp site at www.allambeecamp.com
Love and Blessing,
Uncle J

Sermon Outline 2nd Oct 2005
Title :Anointed to Serve Part 2
Texts: Isaiah 61:1-2; Luke 4:18-19
1. Prophetic words fulfilled
•Isaiah 61:1-2 ( prophesied some 690 years B.C)
• “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
•He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
•to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
•2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
Fulfilled in Jesus
•Luke 4:18-19 Jesus’ Mission Statement
•18"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, 19to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.
•The Lord stop short of 2nd part of V2 – “vengeance of our God”. Why? because his first coming is about salvation and grace!
•See 2 Thes 1:7-8 – The vengeance of God will be real in the second coming of Christ!
2. What is the Gospel to the poor & Healing of broken hearts?
•Poverty is a mind set - allowing the circumstances to dictate your destiny
•Broken hearts has to hurt before it can be healed!
3. What is preaching deliverance to captives?
•Boldly speaking the truth in love and breaking the bondage of deception. That takes strength and anointing. The Church needs this kind of preaching, because so many are
•captives of sickness,
•captives of the flesh,
•captives of soulish theology,
•captives of the past,
•captives of bitterness, and so forth.
4. What is preaching recovery of sight to the blind?
•Both natural and spiritual blindness
•Your physical eyes are valuable, but the eyes of the spirit are more important
•STRONGHOLDS ARE FORMED WHEN WE AGREE TO A LIES OF THE ENEMY!
5. What is preaching the acceptable year of the Lord? Jubilee & Freedom!
•Boldly declare the timing and seasons of the Lord.
•Teaching season to preaching season – the Kerusso & Kerugma
•Healing and salvation is the ultimate jubilee!
•Jesus spent time alone with his father
6. Recap – Last week in the Old Testament
•Period of the Judges at a very unsavory part of Israel’s past à (see Judges 19 & 20 è cut-up concubine!)
•King Saul – anointed in 1 Samuel 10:v1, timid and shy, still went back and plow his field; Until the injustice came in 1 Samuel 11:6-7 - he was fired up, cut-up the oxen, rose-up to fight the enemy!
•How did sehu break the oppression of Jezebel? – with double prophetic anointing on Elisha plus the kingly anointing on Jehu! What Elijah could not do earlier.
7. Conclusion: What do we get from all these?
•We must seek to be anointed to serve effectively, anointing makes breakthroughs easier. Like Paul in Athens (Acts 17) he uses humans’ philosophies and argues at the Areopagus – there were little results- but when he relied on signs and wonder – there were much more.
•Strongholds are not easily broken by gentle persuasion of logical argument.
8 Finally: A.N.O.I.N.T
•Anointing teaching is a dangerous one but a powerful one – too much emphasis led to self exaltation. But too little emphasize can led to a victim mentality.
•No one can anoint himself – it has to come from the Lord by obedience and divine calling.
•Only those who seek to serve God and his higher purpose will benefit from the anointing. Seek God’s presence and do His will.
•Insist on the truth of the gospel of grace – Jesus was anointed to set the captives free, restore sight to the blind, freedom for the oppressed. Look at King Saul & Jehu – to right some injustice. Micah 6:8
•New things will be wrought through the anointing of the Lord. New and fervent worship. New and refreshing season of harvest. Intimacy brings reproduction! May His be so real in this place!
•Take hold of the promises – never give up on what has been promised to you or prophesized over you. Do not be short-change by the lies of the devil.
