Spiritual DNA of BOL church

Bread of Life Church has a distinct mission emphasis in her spiritual DNA stretching back to her root in pre-war era in China. Way back in 1940s, Dr Timothy Dzao preached in street corners and unconventional places like cinemas and school halls which resulted in a wave of revival sweeping various parts of Asia including China, South East Asia and India. One of the milestones was a 100 nights of evangelistic meeting in Hong Kong where signs and wonders were common phenomenon. The same 100 nights of evangelistic and healing meeting was repeated during the peak of the SARS epidemic in 2003/4 where no one wears surgical mask in the packed nightly meetings and yet no one ever got infected with SARS!

We believe the church exist for mission - mission to her immediate locality as well as globally. Besides reaching our present generation, we are unapologetically future focus – we are fixated in reaching the next generation for Christ. We need to preach and live the “Full gospel” – making the gospel message real and relevant to both hearts and minds through the unchanging Word and the power of the Holy Spirit

Prophetic or Pathetic - Message

Prophetic or Pathetic? -28-10-07

“Men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command;”
(2 Chron 12:32)

1. Where is God in your life?
 "A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?" says the LORD

2. Another kind of Famine foretold
 11 "The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD,
"when I will send a famine through the land— not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. (Amos 8:11)

3. Danger of Hardened hearts
 9 He said, "Go and tell this people:
" 'Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.'
 10 Make the heart of this people calloused;
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed." (Isaiah 6:9-10)

4. My Prayer & Heart Cry
 That we will be a fruitful vine and not a basket case!
 (Contrast John 15 with Amos 8)
 There is a point in time when prayers won’t work if we persist in disobedience!
