Prophetic or Pathetic? -28-10-07
“Men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command;”
(2 Chron 12:32)
1. Where is God in your life?
"A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?" says the LORD
2. Another kind of Famine foretold
11 "The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD,
"when I will send a famine through the land— not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. (Amos 8:11)
3. Danger of Hardened hearts
9 He said, "Go and tell this people:
" 'Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.'
10 Make the heart of this people calloused;
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed." (Isaiah 6:9-10)
4. My Prayer & Heart Cry
That we will be a fruitful vine and not a basket case!
(Contrast John 15 with Amos 8)
There is a point in time when prayers won’t work if we persist in disobedience!
