Message Outline 25/6/06

The Law, the Sin and the Great Salvation

1. How does God reveal Himself to us?
General Revelation – His Creation (Psalms 19:1-6 see also Romans 1:20)
Specific Revelation – through His “Laws” the words of the Bible (Ps 19:7-11)
Inner conviction & prompting of the Holy Spirit (Ps 19:12-13)

2. The Beauty of the “Law”
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
    The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
       The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
       The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
 10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold;
         Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
         And in keeping them there is great reward. (Psalm 19 in KJV)

3. He who is forgiven little loves little
Let us NOT shy from preaching about Sin and the harsh reality of Hell
Parable of the debtors (Lk 7:41-47)
Story of the traffic fine
Story of the parachutes

4. We don’t need grace if there is No Law, No righteousness and No hell
The central message of the book of Romans - “But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. (Rom 5:13b)
We must appreciate what we have been saved from
Let us go back to the 2 passenger on the planes
We should live our lives differently when we know our ultimate destination!

Our response and take home message
1. I love the word of God, for it tells us the Law, the Sin, and the Great Salvation.
2. Do we appreciate what are we saved from? “he who is forgiven little loves little” (Luke 7:47b)
3. Hell is a place where fear, disconnection, doubts, regret, pain and misery abides, and where “" worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.'
4. In Heaven, there is no tears, no crying, no pain, no darkness (Rev 21:3-4; 22:1-5); furthermore, we are meant to reign with Christ (Rev 5:10; 20:6); But most of all, we will have real peace and joy, as well as the abiding presence of God.
5. Do you feel that wearing the “parachute” is a pain and a chore?
6. Or are you really really grateful for so great a salvation ? (Heb2: 3)
